Effective August 24, 2026

Privacy, without fine print.

SnapTrellis is designed to keep your screenshots private and on your Mac.

Data collection

SnapTrellis does not collect personal data. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, accounts, or third-party SDKs. It does not send screenshots, Vines, annotations, usage information, or device information to Designed Calm LLC or another service.

Screen content

SnapTrellis accesses only the screen content you choose to capture. Captures, annotations, and composed Vines are processed locally and stored in SnapTrellis’s sandboxed container on your Mac.

Finished captures remain recoverable for seven days. When you copy, drag, save, or share a screenshot or Vine, the receiving app or location controls that copy under its own privacy practices.

Permissions

SnapTrellis requests macOS Screen Recording permission so it can create the still captures you request. It does not record video or audio. You can revoke this permission in System Settings at any time.

Network access

SnapTrellis does not make network requests.

Deletion

Finishing a capture removes it from the active Vine and keeps it recoverable in Recently Finished for seven days. SnapTrellis automatically removes expired temporary captures. Removing the app may leave its sandboxed application data until macOS or the user removes the app container.

Children

SnapTrellis is a general-purpose Mac app and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes and contact

If SnapTrellis’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed version is released. Privacy questions can be sent to hello@designedcalm.com.
